Custom Precision Alloy Steel CNC Milled Parts
Overview
XCM CNC mills alloy steel mounting faces with flatness controlled to 0.02 mm over an area of 1030 x 1030 mm. This capability suits transmission shift forks, support seats and reducer connecting blocks that locate through faces and hole patterns. Small precision parts are machined on a Matsuura MX-520, while large support seats use a Qiao Feng 3016-4A with travel of 3000 x 1600 x 1400 mm. The company is certified to ISO 9001, ISO 13485, IATF 16949 and GJB9001C. The minimum order is 1 piece, with prototypes in 3-7 days and standard orders in 10-15 days. Equipment listed for this machining service includes Qiao Feng CNC 3016-4A, Matsuura MX-520, DMG 80mono, Mazak I-100S, Brother, Taichung.

Large Alloy Steel Mounting Face Flatness and Parallelism
Alloy steel mounting faces can achieve flatness of 0.02 mm over 1030 x 1030 mm and parallelism of 0.03 mm / 1030 mm. When both sides of a large flat part require machining, one face is finish milled first to establish a datum, then the part is flipped to machine the opposite face and control parallelism. Large support seats over 500 mm have an overall dimensional tolerance of +/-0.05 mm.
Alloy Steel Locating Hole and Bolt Pattern Milling
Alloy steel locating holes can achieve H7/H8 or +/-0.005 mm tolerances, with reamed surfaces at Ra 1.6 um. Hole-pattern position can be controlled to 0.01 mm for locating and bolt holes in reducer connecting blocks and motor mounts. Blind holes require at least 0.3 mm of stock at the bottom, and the maximum effective thread depth in a blind hole is 50 mm.
Alloy Steel Fork Slot Symmetry and Thin Rib Milling
Transmission shift fork openings can achieve symmetry of 0.02 mm and perpendicularity of 0.02 mm / 1000 mm. Ribs on lightweight load-bearing parts can be as thin as 0.8 mm with a height-to-width ratio of 8:1; metal walls can be as thin as 0.5 mm. Thin-rib parts undergo stress-relief aging after rough milling and before finish milling to size, reducing distortion.
Alloy Steel Sealing Faces and Step Height Inspection
Sealing faces on reducer connecting blocks can achieve Ra 0.8 um, and precision datum faces can achieve Ra 0.4 um after lapping. Cosmetic faces have a surface roughness of Ra 1.6 um, with uniform tool marks and no pronounced texture to the touch. Step heights are measured with a TRIMOS 600L height gauge, and the relative positions of hole patterns and faces are measured with a Hexagon Inspector Classic 06.08.06 CMM.

Applications
Automotive Transmission Shift Forks
Typical parts: Transmission shift fork, fork support seat
Shift forks move gears or engagement sleeves in a shifting mechanism. Fork opening width, support faces and locating-hole patterns jointly affect assembly fit. XCM machining capabilities: fork symmetry of 0.02 mm and H7 locating holes.
Reducer Connecting Blocks and Servo Motor Mounts
Typical parts: Reducer connecting block, servo motor mounting seat
These parts connect motors, reducers or frames through mounting faces and hole patterns. The relationship between faces and holes determines assembly position. XCM machining capabilities: hole-pattern position of 0.01 mm and sealing faces at Ra 0.8 um.
Construction Machinery Linkage Rod Ends and Load-Bearing Connector Seats
Typical parts: Linkage rod end, load-bearing connector seat
Rod ends and connector seats hold adjacent mechanisms in their specified positions. These parts often feature load-bearing steps, side mounting faces and grouped connection holes. XCM machining capabilities: perpendicularity of 0.02 mm / 1000 mm and threads from M1.4 to M220.
Wind Turbine Gearbox Support Seats
Typical parts: Gearbox support seat, bearing support block
Support seats provide mounting datum faces for shafts or bearing assemblies inside gearboxes. Faces and hole patterns must be machined to a common assembly datum. XCM machining capabilities: milling travel of 3000 x 1600 x 1400 mm and flatness of 0.02 mm over 1030 x 1030 mm.
Why Choose Us
Quality Systems and Inspection Equipment for Load-Bearing Parts
We operate under ISO 9001, ISO 13485, IATF 16949 and GJB9001C quality systems and use machining centers from DMG, Mazak, Matsuura and Brother. CMMs and height gauges help verify the assembly dimensions specified on the drawing.
Finishing Routes for Fork Openings and Deep Slots
When mounting faces, fork openings or pockets require precision dimensions, CNC machining and any necessary grinding, EDM or wire EDM operations are evaluated against the drawing. The specified grade, heat treatment condition and final dimensions determine the sequence of operations.
Tiered Equipment Strategy for Low-Cost CNC Machining, Quality-Assured Production
XCM CNC uses four tiers of CNC equipment from mainland China, Taiwan, Japan, and Europe and the United States. Rough milling and slotting operations with less demanding tolerances run on mainland Chinese or Taiwanese machines. Precision boring of locating holes and machining of precision mounting faces are assigned to imported machines such as DMG and Mazak. Matching equipment to the accuracy required for each operation avoids using machines with higher hourly costs for simple work and reduces machining costs while meeting drawing requirements.
Coordinated Heat Treatment and Surface Finishing in One Order
XCM CNC coordinates heat treatment such as quenching and tempering or nitriding, together with surface treatments such as nickel and zinc plating, so customers do not have to source several suppliers. Heat treatment, plating and coating-thickness reports can accompany delivery according to order requirements.
Optional 100% Inspection of Critical Dimensions for Batch Orders
Batch orders can include 100% inspection of critical dimensions and appearance, with the scope defined by the drawing and order requirements. Assembly-related dimensions such as fork opening width and locating holes are suitable candidates for full inspection.
FAQ
Can you mill alloy steel parts longer than one meter?
Yes. Maximum milling travel is 3000 x 1600 x 1400 mm. For parts over 500 mm, overall dimensional tolerance is generally controlled to +/-0.05 mm. Tighter tolerances can be specified separately for critical mounting faces and hole locations, with feasibility assessed during drawing review.
Can heat treatment and plating be included in the same order?
Yes. Heat treatment, surface finishing and machining can be included in the same order and coordinated through production. Heat treatment, plating and coating-thickness reports are provided according to order requirements.
Do you offer 100% inspection on critical dimensions?
Yes. Critical dimensions and appearance can receive 100% inspection. Mark the dimensions requiring full inspection on the drawing or list them in the order. Each batch includes a dimensional inspection report.
How should flatness and parallelism be called out for a mounting face?
Specify the flatness value and the area to which it applies, together with the datum face for parallelism. Flatness of 0.02 mm can be achieved over 1030 x 1030 mm. Larger faces require evaluation based on size and fixturing.
Can you follow our cosmetic standard for visible milled faces?
Yes. Acceptance can follow your cosmetic standard or an approved sample. Specify requirements for tool marks, scratches and color variation in the order. Where color is involved, identify the approved color reference by its sample code.
How long from milled sample to batch production?
Samples generally take 3-7 days. Batch production is scheduled after sample approval, with standard batch orders taking 10-15 days. Parts requiring heat treatment or surface finishing are evaluated separately according to the number of operations.
What are the payment, shipping and packaging options?
Payment options are T/T, PayPal, Western Union. Shipping options are DHL / FedEx / UPS / Sea freight. Packaging options are Foam + carton / wooden crate.
